As the Legal Director, Unabiz Taiwan, you will play a critical role in providing strategic legal advice and ensuring legal compliance across all aspects of our business in Taiwan. This role is integral in drafting and managing contracts, safeguarding intellectual property, overseeing litigation, and supporting employee relations. Additionally, the Legal Director will be pivotal in establishing and reinforcing compliance standards aligned with both local laws and company-wide policies.
Beyond legal expertise, this position is a vital part of our leadership team, adding value to the business by offering strategic guidance and driving initiatives that extend beyond purely legal matters.
Key Responsibilities:
*Act as a business partner to local leadership, providing substantive legal support across departments and functions, particularly in the execution of local IoT projects (product launches, business models, financing agreements, pricing policies, etc.).
*Conduct thorough risk assessments to drive compliance and mitigate potential legal risks, particularly in the areas of anti-competition and anti-bribery.
*Monitor and influence legal and regulatory developments, ensuring the business remains compliant with legal trends and potential risks.
*Draft and negotiate complex transactions such as financing agreements, sales and purchase agreements, and other business-critical contracts.
*Provide strategic and operational legal advice, including training key stakeholders on legal necessities in relation to business objectives.
*Ensure compliance with all applicable laws, regulations, and Unabiz’s standards in business activities.
*Oversee contract management, legal housekeeping, and corporate secretarial duties.
*Mitigate risks associated with litigation, manage significant disputes, and ensure adherence to the company’s policies on external counsel.
*Lead internal investigations and foster a strong culture of ethics, integrity, and compliance within the organization.
*Collaborate to promote diversity and inclusion, ensuring a workplace free from all forms of discrimination and harassment.
