Your Role
Molex is seeking a Senior Signal Integrity Engineer to join a team within our Copper Solutions Business Unit that designs, analyzes, and verifies the signal integrity performance of high-speed connectors, cables, and other interconnect systems for the data center, telecom, and server and storage markets. This engineer will primarily work with mechanical and manufacturing engineers to develop next generation 112Gbps and 224Gbps interconnects for a wide range of local and international customers.
What You Will Do
•Lead the design and optimization of high-speed interconnects using the latest full-wave 3D EM field solver software and analysis methods at both nominal and worst-case conditions.
•Perform empirical and analytical signal integrity evaluations of interconnects to verify designs. Perform simulation to measurement correlation studies.
•Direct the PCB layout team to design signal integrity characterization test boards and customer verification boards.
•Generate signal integrity evaluation reports, qualification test reports, and other technical reports and presentations for both internal and customer use.
•Provide expert signal integrity advice to product management, sales, and customers regarding our interconnect products and applications.
Discover and invent new techniques and methods in signal integrity modeling, design, analysis, and verification. Recommend design changes and technical process and procedure improvements.
•Present research on new and emerging areas of interconnect and system signal integrity design, analysis, verification, and industry trends at industry events and conferences.
Who You Are
•Proven experience designing and verifying microwave electromechanical components and systems (interconnects, packages, antennas, waveguides, EMC solutions, etc.) using both simulations and measurements.
Required Qualifications:
o Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Applied Math.
o 10+ years’ electromagnetic design and verification experience.
•Preferred Qualifications:
o Master’s degree or PhD in Electrical Engineering, Physics, or Applied Math.
•Skills and Abilities:
o In-depth theoretical understanding of electromagnetics and microwave components and systems.
o Experience using HFSS, CST, Clarity or similar full-wave 3D EM field solver software to design and optimize high-speed interconnects or other microwave components and systems.
o Experience using VNA’s and TDR’s to verify high-speed interconnects or other microwave components and systems.
What Will Put You Ahead
•Experience designing and verifying mmWave components and systems.
• Experience evaluating end-to-end high speed digital interconnect signal integrity performance and margin using both simulations and measurements.
• PCB signal integrity design rules and DFM experience.
• Power integrity design and verification experience.
• Experience designing and verifying EMC solutions.
• Excellent interpersonal, bi-lingual communication, and organizational skills.
• Ability to prioritize, problem solve, as well as develop and meet project schedules.
• Team player who can lead and work independently when needed.
• Ability and willingness to provide technical team leadership & mentorship.
• Standards committee participation & Technical papers published.
