Job Description
The main function of a hardware test engineer is to develop and deploy test stations, support engineering, and production builds, support troubleshooting and fixing issues, refine test requirements, and improve testing procedures.
Job Responsibilities:
• Define test requirements and methodology for optical test systems with the Engineering team.
• Involve in designing and deploying testers and test fixtures with Engineering and tester vendors.
• Working with tester vendors in optical tester development, troubleshooting and solving issues, and testing outgoing verification at the tester vendor site.
• Support testers' bring-up and qualification on-site, track build test data, and carry out troubleshooting and fix with contract manufacturer or tester vendor, and cross-functional team during engineering builds and manufacturing ramp.
• Plan and carry out DOE on-site for engineering and testing development.
• Develop a tester design improvement plan and implementation.
• Develop new testing procedures and enhance existing ones to ensure both reliability and usability.
• Plan and execute tests of hardware, recording test results and reporting to the design team.
• Document all changes made to hardware and assist in the review of design and specification.
• Design and implement test tools for the review and verification process.
• Develop tests and debugging tools to analyze the functionality of hardware systems.
• Prepare plans for validation methods, tools, and processes for various tests.
• Coordinate travel to suppliers (foreign and domestic) to establish technical and manufacturing processes required during product development and volume manufacturing ramp.
• Driving tester key performance metrics (Yield, UPH, testing Cycle Time, Cost, OEE, etc.)
• BS or MS degree in engineering or related field
• 5+ years of experience in consumer electronic product development & volume manufacturing
• Experience with domestic and/or international consumer electronics vendors and supply chain
• Experience in test automation and test frameworks to enable comprehensive test coverage
• Understanding of fundamental considerations of building hardware in development and volume production stages
• Experience in test automation, frameworks, SAT and FAT concepts to enable comprehensive test coverage
• Background in delivering optical camera or display module test solutions
