About the Role:
As an HSSE (Health, Safety, Security, and Environmental) Manager, your responsibilities include preparing EHS plans and training for the site and clients, tracking progress, addressing pending issues with the site team, conducting weekly EHS meetings with consultants, contractors, and agencies, and proactively following up on safety issues.
What this job involves:

1. Spearhead the implementation of comprehensive safety programs to foster a safe and risk-free workplace environment.
2. Take charge of crisis management, swiftly responding to emergencies and effectively mitigating risks.
3. Monitor and identify opportunities for improvement, driving the implementation of proactive measures for enhancing workplace safety.
4. Conduct thorough risk evaluations and develop robust protocols to minimize potential hazards and ensure the safety of all personnel.
5. Maintain regular and effective communication with facilities and safety managers, ensuring full compliance with established safety programs.
6. Oversee the completion of annual compliance signoffs, ensuring adherence to regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
7. Foster open, constructive, and collaborative relationships with personnel and stakeholders, cultivating a culture of safety and teamwork across all levels of the organization.
[Project/ Site]:
Re-organize the order of these items for a HSSE Manager role’s JD based on relevance and importance:
1. Demonstrate strong leadership in environmental, health, and safety matters, providing guidance and support to the site.
2. Offer safety expertise and assistance to various projects, ensuring compliance with our established standards and local safety regulations.
3. Conduct comprehensive safety review meetings with project and design teams during the initial project phase.
4. Ensure that all high-risk activities have properly documented safety work method statements (SWMS).
5. Actively promote workplace safety through regular site inspections, risk reporting, timely corrective actions, and engaging in weekly safety meetings.
6. Take a proactive approach to managing workplace incidents, analyzing each situation critically and implementing appropriate measures.
7. Maintain consistent coordination with project and operations managers to ensure the well-being and safety of all personnel.
[Training/ Education]:
1. Drive engagement and establish buy-in from all stakeholders for our environment, health, and safety initiatives.
2. Foster a culture of continuous improvement by actively sharing success stories and best practices among project teams, while also providing mentoring and coaching to safety officers and non-safety professionals.
3. Provide comprehensive training to site teams and vendors, ensuring the effective implementation of safety protocols and the promotion of a healthy work environment.
4. Develop and deliver awareness programs and educational campaigns to enhance the understanding and knowledge of our employees and stakeholders regarding safety practices.
