Job Description
【Purpose】
Manages all purchasing activities and establishes strategic purchasing processes and procedures. Maintains relationship with vendors or suppliers and negotiates contracts for major purchases. Evaluates and analyzes purchasing trend and price trend to identify forecasting demand and minimize purchasing costs.
【Key Responsibilities】
1. Responsible for all aspects of the relationship with a specific supplier within a commodity.
2. Directs and manages all schedules, and purchase orders for the client account or the product family.
3. Lead Cost Down initiatives to support each BU & follow through the process for the product launch.
4. Purchase machinery, equipment, tools, raw material, packaging materials, parts, services, and/or supplies necessary for operation of an organization
5. Compile and analyze statistical data to determine feasibility of buying products and to establish price objectives
6. Compile information to keep informed on price trends and manufacturing processes
7. May negotiate with suppliers and analyze suppliers’ operations to determine factors that affect prices and determine lowest cost consistent with quality, reliability, and ability to meet required schedules.
8. Review proposals, negotiate prices, select or recommend suppliers, analyze trends, follow up on orders placed, verify delivery, approve payment, and maintain necessary records
9. May prepare request for proposals (RFP) and bid packages.
10. May perform delivery assurance responsibilities.
11. Recommend, implement, and monitor, continual improvement/quality initiatives, policies, and processes to achieve quality and profitability goals.
