Job Description
TutorABC is seeking a talented ESL materials writer to contribute to an exciting new project. Initially a four-month project-based, in-office role, this position has the potential to lead to additional projects or even a full-time opportunity.
Position Overview:
As an ESL materials writer for our Very Young Learners (VYL) program, you will:
• Develop and proofread engaging online teaching materials tailored for very young learners.
• Adhere to the provided scope and sequence to ensure structured and cohesive lesson plans.
• Use your creativity to enhance each lesson with fun, interactive activities that align with second language acquisition principles for VYLs.
Requirements:
• English Proficiency: C1/C2 level.
• Experience: Minimum of 1 year of experience developing ESL materials for VYLs.
• Pedagogical Knowledge: Strong understanding of language learning, lesson planning, and second language acquisition principles for young learners.
• Technical Skills: Proficient in Microsoft PowerPoint, Excel, and Word.
• Creative Teaching: Ability to create engaging, age-appropriate lessons and activities for very young learners.
• Application: A customized cover letter is required with your application.
Desirable Qualities:
• Online teaching experience.
• Familiarity with a range of ESL course materials.
• Friendly, engaging, and enthusiastic personality.
Education & Certification:
• Minimum Requirements:
o Bachelor's degree or higher.
o Level 3 ESL certification (or equivalent).
o VYL-specific training and certification.
• Desirable:
o CELTA equivalent or higher (DipTESOL, PGCE).
o Additional qualifications such as TYEL, TYLEC, or CertTESOL.
o Postgraduate degrees related to education and/or ESL.
Salary:
Starting at NT$500 per hour, with the final rate based on qualifications and experience.
Minimum of 10 hours per week.
