Why does this Role exist:
The Construction Manager will be responsible for the planning, execution, and management of our data center construction projects in Taiwan, ensuring the projects are completed on time, within budget, and to performance standards. The Construction Manager will be responsible in coordinating between the stakeholders, parties, vendors, contractors, and the landlord.
What do we expect from you: To have a passion for design and construction in data center space. And deliver the professional efficiently.
What would you expect to do:
• Project Management: Manage project planning, scheduling, and execution of data center construction projects from inception to completion, ensuring adherence to budget, timeline, and quality standards.
• Vendor and Contractor Management: Coordinate with vendors, consultants, contractors, and so on to ensure all aspects of the construction projects are managed effectively.
• Site Supervision: Conduct regular site visits to monitor progress, resolve issues, and ensure compliance with all regulations and building codes.
• Budget and Cost Control: Develop and manage project budgets, track expenses, and identify cost-saving opportunities to ensure projects are completed within budgetary constraints.
• Quality Assurance and Quality Control: Designate and Implement QA procedures. Dynamically refine the QA upon project need. Implement quality control measures to ensure construction work meets specified standards and requirements. Conduct inspections and coordinate testing as necessary.
• Constructability Review and Value Engineering: To dynamically evaluate feasibility and constructability proposed by the designer and vendors and point out the project risk with solution options and discuss with the Project director and the team. Explore the alternatives of materials, methodologies, vendors, etc., to optimize the delivery of the project.
• Stakeholder Communication and Expectation Management: Serve as the primary point of contact for site stakeholders, including internal teams, clients, vendors, and regulatory authorities. Provide regular updates on project progress, milestones, and risk identification and control. Manage the expectations of the landlord, stakeholders, and clients by ensuring the project progress.
• Documentation and Reporting: Maintain project documentation, including contracts, permits, drawings, and change orders. Prepare reports and presentations for management review.
Educational Qualifications and Experience Needed for this Job:
• Bachelor’s degree in CSA (Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering), or MEP (Mechanical, Electrical, or Plumbing Engineering), or any relevant to the Construction Management and Data Center field.
• Master’s degree preferred.
• PMP license, CDCP, or Uptime license will be a plus.
A. What Catches Our Eye:
• Minimum of 5 years of experience in engineering consultancy, advanced-tech construction projects, or data center construction.
• Proven experience in managing data center construction projects, including greenfield and brownfield projects.
• Strong project management skills, with the ability to multitask and prioritize tasks effectively.
• Familiarity with the life cycle of Taiwan construction project: BOD-IFC, permits, construction, commissioning, and project close out.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional teams and external stakeholders.
• Familiarity with construction management software and tools for project scheduling, budgeting, and documentation.
